NORTH PHOENIX SINGLES CLUB CALENDAR

The North Phoenix Singles Club is a group of men and women over the age of 50, who are widowed, divorced, or never married.
We are a social singles club, whose purpose is to meet people, enjoy ourselves, and have fun!

We meet on the first, third, & fourth Sundays of the month, at 1:00 p.m., at
Elks Lodge #335, 14424 N. 32nd St., Phoenix 85032

A few examples of the types of activities that we schedule are:
House Parties, Potlucks, Social Hours, Trips, Dances, Bowling,
Game Nights, Movies and the Theater . . . and so much more!

MARCH 2010 EVENTS

Tue. - 2,9,16,23,30 - 12 Noon - SENIOR BOWLING at Sunset Bowl. 12th Street ,just south of Dunlap (East side of street)  Spectators  are welcome to join the fun and root for your favorite bowler to a winning game.  No Host.

Wed.    3    -        5 pm - SOUVIA TEA ROOM ~ 15414 N 7th St., #8.  Host: Sharon J.

Fri.        5    -        5 pm - FISH & PIEROGI DINNER ~ St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, 8141 N 16th St, Phoenix ~ Prices vary depending on items ordered and portion sizes.  Host: Liz. 

Sat.       6    -        COMEDY SHOW at Mountain View Center, 2927 E. Campbell.  Admission only $5.  Go for snack after.  Host: Lois.

Sun.     7    -        11:15 am - NPS ACTIVITY MEETING ~ All members welcome to advise on April’s calendar.
Noon-1 pm - SOCIALIZE
1 pm - GENERAL MEETING ~ We will celebrate the birthdays for the month of March; 50/50 Drawing; & all other business.  Lunch after @ Chuy’s Mexican Restaurant ~9401 N Cave Creek Rd. (just north of Cactus, east side).

Tue.      9    -        4:30 PM - DINNER at Valle Luna Mexican Restaurant, 16408 N Cave Creek Rd.  Dinners are ½ price. Host: Eva S.

Wed.  10    -        11:30 am - LUNCH at Bamboo House Chinese Restaurant ~ 502 E Thunderbird Rd.  Host: Liz

Fri.      12    -        5:30 pm – DINNER/DANCING at Chances Are Restaurant, 7570 E. E 6th Ave, Scottsdale.  Host: Toni K.

Sat.    13    -        9 am – BREAKFAST at Alexi’s Family Restaurant – 18450 N. 19th Avenue – Host: Judy K.

Sun.   14    -        NO MEETING – 8 am-  DAY TRIP TO Picacho Peak for the Civil War reenactment.  Meet at Elks Lodge to carpool.
Approximately 70 miles southeast of Central Phoenix.  Take I-10 east to Exit 219 & follow the signs.  Carpool from the Elks Lodge.  We will find a host if enough people sign up.

Wed.  17    -        6 pm - CORN BEEF & CABBAGE DINNER/DANCING ~ Elks Lodge.  $9.  Music by The Blue Notes. Host: George F.

Fri.      19    -        5:30 pm - PRIME RIB DINNER ~ Elks Lodge ~ 5:30 pm ~ Host: George F.

Sun.   21    -        Noon-1 pm - SOCIALIZE
1 pm – GENERAL MEETING – Let’s do something really different for lunch and  travel to Greasewood Flats and eat at  Reata Pass Steakhouse.  Directions from anywhere in the Valley:   Take the 101 to Exit #36 Pima Rd./Princess Dr.  Go north on Pima Rd. until you reach Happy Valley Rd.  Turn right on Happy Valley Rd to stop sign at Alma School Parkway.  Turn left and Greasewood is on your right-hand side. Follow the dirt road down to the bunkhouse.  Guess what?   You found it!

Wed.  24    -        1 pm –CARDSGAMES – Annabelle’s home.  Contact her for address.

-        5:30 – STEAK DINNER AT Elks Lodge.  Prices vary according to entrée.  Grill your own entrée.  Dinner includes baked potato, salad, rolls, butter and fresh fruit when available.  Host: Andy.

Thu.   25    -        5:30 pm – HAPPY HOUR at Aunt Chilada’s, 7330 N. N. Dreamy Draw Dr.  Take Glendale Ave. east to 17th St.  Take left on 17th St. ½ mile to Morten & Dreamy Draw.  Aunt Chilada’s is on the left.  Host: Virginia D.

Fri.      26            5:30 pm – FISH FRY- American Legion Post #107 – Beardsley Ave. & Cave Creek Rd.  Host: George  F.

Sat.    27    -        5:30 pm – HOUSE PARTY – with George’s Famous Cheeseburgers – BYOB.  Limit 20 members. – Contact George for address.

Sun.   28    -        Noon-1 pm - SOCIALIZE
1 pm – GENERAL MEETING.  Lunch after at Deer Valley Airport Restaurant, 7th Ave. & Deer Valley Rd.

Wed.  31    -        5 pm - DINNER & MUSEUM ~ Spaghetti Factory at 1418 N. Central Ave.  Followed by a trip to the Phoenix Art Museum at 1625 N. Central Ave. ~ Ansel Adams Exhibit 7 pm.  Gene has made arrangements for a Docent to take us on a guided tour.  Host: Gene W.

NOTE: . . . . Because the first Sunday in April is Easter, we will not meet that Sunday. 
This month only, we will meet on the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sundays.
