Tucson is the second largest city in Arizona with a population over 500,000. The Tucson metropolitan area has a population around 950,000. Map.

It is located in Pima County, 118 miles SE of Phoenix and 60 miles north of the Mexican border. The city covers about 150 square miles and it's surrounded by mountain ranges. The Catalinas to the north. The Rincons to the east. The Tucsons to the west. And the Santa Rita Mountains to the south.

At an altitude of 2,500 feet, it's slightly cooler than Phoenix but not by much. It's still a desert community with an average of 350 days of sun. Average temperatures vary from 75 - 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and 38 to 65 in the winter. Average precipitation is 12 inches per year.

Major colleges are the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, and the University of Phoenix. ...
