How To Find The Unity Of Divine Love Church In Chandler Arizona.

The Unity of Divine Love Church is very easy to find. The major cross streets are Chandler Blvd and Kyrene. Kyrene is about a mile east of Interstate 10. Their mission statement is , "We live, love, and serve Divine Love as our path to personal and community transformation!"

First Time Visitor Experiences Unity Of Divine Love.

This was my first visit to this church. I must say that I felt genuine 'Divine Love' from everyone. At the front door I got a big hug from Jeanine as she handed me the morning's program. And before I got to my seat, two other people greeted me with a hug as well. I chose to sit at the back so I could observe everything better. Then the minister, Kyra Baehr, came to my seat to introduce herself. She greeted me with a hug as if we've known each other for years and she welcomed me to her church.

Why I Attended Unity of Divine Love Today.

As I sat there, I knew I was at this church for a reason (other than to review a church service). In fact I knew this the evening before on Saturday. I wasn't sure what the reason was, but that's ok. We don't have to know everything. In fact, most of time it's better that we don't know. All we need is to create clear intentions and follow our inner intuition. God, the creator of the universe, knew why I was there and that's all that matters. As it turned out, there were at least two reasons why I was there. My being there benefited the church as well as myself. It was a win-win situation for everyone.

About The Unity of Divine Love Location In Chandler.

First let me tell you about the church building itself. It's located in a quiet commercial building that's been converted into a beautiful church. It's just north of Chandler Blvd. Turn west onto Erie and take your first left on to Austin Dr. The church is at the end of the road on your left or the east side of the road. There's plenty of parking.

I estimate that it seats about 120 people comfortably. In front there is a big screen where you can view announcements, songs, quotes and other related information. On the stage I observed a large black grand piano. On top of it was a lit candle and a picture a man with long hair. Could this be Jesus??? Anyways he took a great picture.

Along the back of the stage you could see the word peace in large letters. Then next to that there was someone playing a hand held drum. Marilyn Hardy was playing the guitar and there was another person singing. All three were singing when I walked into the sanctuary and they sounded very good for such a small group. Later in the morning Marilyn Hardy sang a solo that was professional quality. The seats were heavily padded and very comfortable.

Unity of Divine Love Church Services.

I attended the first service at 9am. This is their 'children's ministry serviice' which really confused me when I saw it on their website. I wasn't sure if adults were welcome at this service or not. However I assumed it must be a service for adults as well. It didn't make sense any other way.

Apparently at 9am they have ministry classes for children 0-2 years, 3-5 years, and 6-11 years. This enables the parents of young children to enjoy the services without distractions. The teen ministry is at the 11 am ministry. I'm not sure what happens if you're 12. : -)

As with most churches, fewer people attend early morning services. I counted about 45 adults for the 9am service. My guess is that the 11am service is attended by more people but I can't be sure of that.

Unity Of Divine Love Church Service Format.

The service consisted of an introduction, the purpose of the church, and welcome by the minister Kyra. She is upbeat, positive, young, and full of life. You can tell that she's passonate about her purpose and genuinely loves people. Next everyone greeted each other, including me with a hug.

Judy Hildebrand, a member of the church, spoke for about 5 minutes on how she found Unity and how her life changed since then. After that an inspirational Bible passage was read. Kyra went over the theme for this morning's service, Marilyn Hardy sang a beautiful solo, and Kyra led a meditation. The meditation was followed by the sermon.

Reverend Kyra Gives An Emotionally Uplifting Message.

It was emotionally uplifting to hear Kyra's message. It was as if God was speaking through her to me this morning. She didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, but the fact that I was there and her message was so relavent to my current situation, reminded me the degree to which God loves all of us more than we can ever imagine. If we are connected to all that is and if we give thanks every moment, we will 'see' his (or her) love through the people we meet.

Kyra reminded us that we are already good enough the way we are. We don't have to 'become' something to be 'successful'. Somewhere deep inside we know our purpose. Joy is our 'compass'. Kyra said that 'our purpose is something that naturally brings us joy.' What we could do is "allow ourselves to feel what is in our heart."

The more we enjoy doing something, the more we are in the 'flow'. Life becomes effortless and there is no struggle. She showed us a picture of an eagle soaring at great heights. Hardly any energy is expended when you do what you love to do.

Kyra reminded us to be who we were meant to be and allow the endless stream of energy from God to flow through us. When we do that, people will pick up on our joy. They will want to support us along the way. We can be 'spiritual' and financially blessed at the same time.

After the sermon and love offering, many young children walked into the sanctuary and sat up on stage. As the service ended everyone joined hands and sang the 'Peace Song', followed a 'Prayer of Protection'.
